Our Story

Why I Started Good Neighbor Tree Co.

My name is Matthew Moore, and I’m the owner of Good Neighbor Tree Care.

I started this business because I wanted to build something that was more than just a way to make a living. I wanted to build something that reflected who I am, what I believe in, and the way I believe people should be treated.

I’ve always enjoyed working outside, working with my hands, and taking on jobs that most people would rather not tackle. There’s something rewarding about taking a difficult or dangerous situation and being able to make someone’s property safer and better than it was before.

But over time, I realized that the work itself isn't the only thing that matters to me.

The people matter.

When someone calls me about a tree hanging over their house or a dangerous tree sitting in their yard, they're trusting me with something that belongs to them. I don't take that lightly. I want every person I work for to know that I'll treat their property with the same care and respect that I would want someone to show me.

That's where the name Good Neighbor came from.

To me, being a good neighbor means helping when someone needs it, keeping your word, being honest even when it's difficult, and doing the right thing when nobody is watching. It means caring about people instead of seeing them as just another job or another paycheck.

My Faith & My Purpose

My faith in Jesus Christ is a huge part of who I am, and I want that to be reflected in the way I run this business.

I believe God gives us opportunities, abilities, and resources for a reason. I want to use what I've been given to work hard, provide for my family, serve the people around me, and make a positive difference in my community.

I don't expect to be perfect, but I do want to be a man who keeps his word, works with integrity, treats people fairly, and puts God first.

That's the kind of business I want to build.

My goal isn't simply to become the biggest tree company. My goal is to build a company people can trust. A company where customers know they're going to be treated honestly, where the work is done safely and with pride, and where the person on the other side of the phone genuinely cares about helping them.

If I can finish a job knowing that I made someone's property safer, took a little stress off their shoulders, and treated them the way I'd want to be treated, then I consider that a job well done.

I believe that's what being a good neighbor is all about.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”
